• Do you accept health insurance?

While I do not accept health insurance directly, I’m happy to provide you with a detailed bill (also called a “superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Every plan is different, so I encourage you to check with your provider about your out-of-network benefits.

If you have any questions or need help understanding the process, please feel free to reach out. I’m here to make things as smooth and stress-free as possible.

  • When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of your session.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you give 24-hour notice for any changes to your appointment. If you cancel after the 24-hour window, you will be charged your full fee for the missed appointment. If there is an emergency, sudden illness, or inclement weather, I understand that you do not have control in these situations and we will discuss it.

  • Is Telehealth Good for Therapy?

Telehealth has become a powerful and convenient option for therapy, offering the same level of support, connection, and effectiveness as in-person sessions—sometimes even more. Many people find that meeting from the comfort of their own home helps them feel more relaxed and open, making it easier to talk about what matters most.

Telehealth also removes many barriers to care: no commute, no rushing between appointments, and no geographic limitations. Whether you have a busy schedule, limited access to local providers, or simply prefer the privacy and ease of meeting online, telehealth can be a meaningful and effective way to receive support.

What matters most is the therapeutic relationship—not the room you’re sitting in—and telehealth allows that relationship to flourish in a way that fits your life.

  • Are there any conditions that would warrant additional treatment providers?

Your safety and well-being are always the highest priority. If, during our work together, concerns such as self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or other high-risk symptoms arise, we will discuss additional steps to ensure you receive the level of care you need.

If it becomes clear that you meet criteria for an eating disorder (ED) or substance use disorder (SUD), you will be referred to and expected to supplement therapy with specialized providers. EDs and SUDs can significantly affect physical, emotional, and social health, and having a broader treatment team ensures you receive comprehensive, effective support.

I will provide recommendations for additional providers based on your location, needs, and financial considerations so that you feel guided—not alone—as you take the next steps in your care.

  • No Surprise Act

In compliance with the No Surprises Act (NSA) that went into effect January 1, 2022, I am required to notify all healthcare consumers of their federal rights and protections against “surprise billing.” This Act requires that I notify you of your federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by a non-participating provider and provide options to receive care from an in-network provider if one is available.

Yes! HIPAA-compliant texting allows for secure messaging that protects your privacy and health information. I use Spruce Health, which provides a simple, convenient, and effective way to communicate outside of scheduled sessions. You’re also welcome to communicate with me through the client portal whenever needed.

To help maintain clear boundaries and ensure time is respected:

Any communication lasting more than 15 minutes will be billed at $50.

Texts or messages between sessions that extend beyond simple check-ins or scheduling needs may also incur a charge.

This policy helps support healthy communication, clear expectations, and consistent therapeutic boundaries.
